Can I travel outside the US after filing my citizenship application?

Yes. When you file a Citizenship application (N-400), within a few months, USCIS might send you a biometrics appointment notice. After the biometrics appointment (fingerprint) process, you may travel outside the US.


Remember! You are a lawful permanent resident, so nothing is restricting you to travel outside the US. But your trip should be less than 6 months (180 days).


What if your citizenship interview (test) is scheduled while you are still outside the US? You can simply reschedule the interview (test) date. Dream Immigration Law also provides USCIS procedure services. So if you need help, let us know!
